“Our goal was to be a shining light in the community, friendly and kind–a bridging event,” shares Carol Lewis, coordinator. “Over 50 volunteers came out with a spirit of kindness and joy.”

                                 
ERIE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH

Director, Tina Borland, has led Erie into an innovative ministry involving a therapeutic miniature horse, Cimarron, which she has trained. Cimarron, and current offspring, “Miracle,” regularly visit nursing and retirement homes for which special shoes have been provided to protect their feet. Requests have come from as far away as the East Coast for presentations, parades and children’s birthday parties.

Well known to the community, Honesdale ACS Center is the community recipient of Human Resource volunteers, as well as goods donated by area churches which enables them to provide food, clothing, gas, fuel and medicines. Towels, bedding and pillows are purchased for clients as funds permit.
